Since 2013, six college students have joined the Eichenthal Fellows.  Here is what they have to say about their experience:

“Paid internships are hard to come by in the non-profit sector, a reality which can create barriers for those with limited means. But the Eichenthal Fellowship allowed me to gain hands-on experience in public service without enduring financial hardship. I cultivated strong relationships with peers and supervisors that will support me as I continue to grow my career in public service.”  -- Shirley LaVarco, New York University, EF at the Center for Employment Opportunities, New York

“My fellowship gave me my first opportunity to participate on the inside of a social justice movement. Not only did I learn practical skills like research, data analysis, grant writing, and participating in local public policy efforts, but I had the wonderful experience of working with a dedicated and creative team with incredible vision. I got to see firsthand what it means to be an advocate and a strong community leader.” Alea Tveit, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, EF at UnifiEd, Chattanooga

“The Eichenthal Fellowship was a practical and professional opportunity to get hands-on experience in the non-profit sector”  – Joel Diamond, Wake Forest University, EF at the Public Education Foundation, Chattanooga

"This fellowship increased my idea of the value of public service."   – Michelle Claros, Wellesley College, EF at Center for Employment Opportunities, New York
